The overall objective of this project is to contribute to the improvement of the quality of rural life for sustainable development of the Republic of Moldova. The specific objective of this project is to reduce economic and social disparities in rural areas through the introduction of active employment initiatives through the development of rural small and medium sized enterprises.

Within this project, the European Union provides financial support for two National Business Support Programmes: PARE 1+1 Programme (National Programme for the Attraction of Migrants’ Remittances in to the Real Economy of the Republic of Moldova) and the WiB (Women in Business) Programme which will include non-financial services such as consultancy, mentoring and trainings, as well as financial support to third parties.

PARE 1+1 is a National Moldovan State Programme which aims at mobilising human and financial resources of Moldovan migrant workers into Moldova's economic development by stimulating the creation and development of small and medium enterprises and corresponding job places by migrant workers and remittance recipients.

Women in Business aims at providing integrated financial and non-financial support to women in business through grant support for investment, and associated business development services. Employment opportunities, especially for women, are created through investment and non-financial support for rural SMEs leading to increased rural job creation.
